Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)

Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) is designed to provide temporary housing for individuals who need a place to live while awaiting a confirmed long-term housing solution. This could include situations where you are waiting for home modifications to be completed or for your new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) property to be ready.

The NDIS typically funds MTA as a one-off support for stays of up to three months (90 days) while your long-term housing arrangements are being finalized.

NDIS Support Categories

Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) is funded under the Core Supports category in your NDIS plan. To access MTA funding, the NDIS requires evidence that you have a confirmed long-term housing solution to move into once the MTA funding ends.

MTA covers the accommodation costs for your stay, but it does not cover other expenses such as food, phone, internet, or other personal bills. Additionally, personal care and other support services required in your home are not included. If you require additional disability supports during your stay in Medium Term Accommodation, these will need to be funded separately under your NDIS plan.

Please note: Billing is in line with the NDIS Price Guide, which typically adjusts annually.
